Colour / Whiteness

The measurement of colour, opacity and whiteness of paper are strictly standardised in a standard climate.

All three parameters change with the moisture content of the paper fibres and after changes in the fibre bond as a result of expansion and shrinkage in processing and during use.

This problem is beyond the scope of current standardisation. It requires the combined measurement of paper moisture and property.
